The opening of one or several branches of a company is always good news however, whether it is new offices, commercial establishments or an additional production plant, it is also true that the expansion represents great challenges.

When speaking of convenience stores, it is essential to observe and monitor permanently what happens in each branch because unfortunately they are constantly exposed to ant theft, vandalism and assault, as in the case of the store chain OXXO.

In recent years, OXXO has become the most successful convenience store and coverage in the Mexican Republic. The rapid increase in sales has been driven, in large part, by the vertiginous increase in the number of stores, the consolidation of its traditional products and the addition of cash services.

Only during 2011 1.135 they were opened new stores, equal to the opening of three stores per day. In fact, at the end of the second quarter of 2012, 428 have opened the 1.026 stores planned for this year, exceeding 10.000 branches.

With so many branches and the security risks involved in operating throughout the day, for both customers and operators, OXXO has seen the need to implement a video surveillance system for high performance in each branch in order to burn video all activities, monitor the performance of its employees, maintain a higher level of security and, ultimately, provide better customer service.

After careful study of quality, performance and functionality, OXXO chose technologies Video Surveillance Pelco by Schneider Electric as their best option to meet the growing security challenges not only for existing branches but also to open future stores of the same chains of convenience stores.

For this project, Schneider Electric, through its team of specialists in comprehensive security, thoroughly analyzed customer needs by launching a study flow of people, lighting and distribution stores.

Subsequently, from the results, it was decided to develop a custom security package consisting OXXO brand products Pelco by Schneider Electric with live monitoring functions, video playback and recording with remote access to the system.

This package is delivered periodically at the main distribution center located OXXO in Monterrey and includes:
* 1 Entry-Level DVR Recorder 4 or 8 of analog channels (records up to 3 continuous weeks).
* Between 4 and 8 color dome camera with WDR technology for compensation contrast lighting.
* 1 Power Supply

"In the particular case of this project, OXXO integrators will have different depending on the region where the store is located, and installation of the equipment is under the supervision of the company itself. We, Schneider Electric, take care to make the initial study, and deliver a complete kit, which is shipped to its distribution center, and already from there they send to each of the stores being built. Basically a recorder, four to eight cameras dome dynamic range and source of power, "said Gerardo Minchaca, VP of Buildings Schneider Electric company.

Gerardo also clarified even each store has a restriction throughout the Republic of Mexico that does not allow them to open their doors without their video surveillance system in operation.

Among the benefits obtained by implementing video surveillance solution from Pelco by Schneider Electric products include:
* Reduction ant theft losses.
* Decreased rates of assault establishments.
* Strong evidence of criminal acts that have led to the capture of criminals.
* Technological surveillance system operating online 24 / 7 / 365.
* Remote and real images detected by the surveillance cameras access time.
* Surveillance interrupted stores and warehouses.
* Obtain relevant information about consumer behavior and consumption patterns for the distribution of establishments and product placement.

"The project has the option to verify the recording from the same place, ie, each of the stores, and at the same time, that monitoring is done from a control center if an event occurs. These images by an official appearance, are shared with the Ministry of Public Security, "he said Minchaca.

Today, managers OXXO not only know their branches are safer and it will be easier to identify those responsible for a crime, but are also able to keep a record of video of all activities held at their establishments same has allowed them to monitor the performance of its employees, maintain a higher level of security and, ultimately, provide better customer service.

"Ultimately, we have a satisfied customer, because all the time we have been working almost six years now, we have not had problems, especially if you consider that we have more than 40 thousand cameras installed with OXXO, so we arranged a full program of support in order to maintain and support when required, "added our guest of Schneider Electric.

On the other hand, Sergio Correa, channel manager of Buildings Schneider Electric Mexico, said that "From the implementation of the Pelco video surveillance system by Schneider Electric, OXXO administrators not only know that their branches are safer and will be more It is easy to identify those responsible for a crime, but they are also able to keep a video record of all the activities carried out in their establishments, which has allowed them to control the performance of their employees, maintain a higher level of security and, in definitive, to offer a better attention to the public ".
