Latin America. At this moment the registration is open for those organizations interested in being part of the Open Security & Safety Alliance.
Hanwha Techwin is one of the founding members who support the launch of the Open Security & Safety Alliance. This alliance represents the main companies in the market that offer security solutions, automation of buildings and related industries.
The Alliance is a nonprofit organization, which does not issue actions, which brings together similar organizations to establish the specifications of a common standardized platform for security solutions available to all. Along with Hanwha Techwin are Bosch Building Technologies, Milestone Systems, Pelco ™ by Schneider Electric and VIVOTEK Inc.
The Alliance was created in response to a current market characterized by the continuous evolution of the Internet of things and the aggregation of data. Security solutions are fragmented because companies do not collaborate with each other to face common challenges; among others, computer security and common operating systems. This is holding back innovation and the possibility of achieving optimal integration.
Many market players compete on technical issues that do not necessarily make a significant difference for customers. The market needs a new direction, an infrastructure that allows the industry to focus on innovation and developments that bring true added value to customers.
The Alliance brings together those organizations that recognize the need to give a new direction to the market and that are willing to contribute to the platform, providing standards and specifications for the common components; among others, a specific operating system for a specific industry, an IoT infrastructure, a collective approach to preserve the security and confidentiality of information, as well as a boost to the improvement of performance levels.
This platform will help the market and the parties involved to focus on the aspects that really offer added value to their customers and open new possibilities for application, even beyond security. The following are the main tasks of the Alliance:
- - Create and promote the use of common standards, best practices and specifications.
- - Address the challenges shared by industry players, such as security and confidentiality of data.
- - Allow market players to concentrate on innovative solutions that their customers consider to have greater added value.
Members will benefit from an acceleration of innovation, more business opportunities and a higher level of confidence in their security solutions.
By and for the industry
During the last year, the founding members have been working in close collaboration and discussing with 50 companies, from pioneering companies in the adoption of technologies to technological trajectory organizations, to verify the starting concepts.
Systems integrators and distributors have been consulted to ensure that the Alliance is adapted to the needs of all interested parties. These initial contributions will help to configure the standards and specifications that will eventually be consolidated in the infrastructure of the Alliance.
Starting with the five founding members, Hanwha Techwin, Bosch Building Technologies, Milestone Systems, Schneider Electric's Pelco ™ and VIVOTEK Inc. and the first companies to join the Alliance, including Ambarella Inc., Anixter Inc., AndroVideo, Kings Security Systems Ltd and NetApp, the global alliance will focus on designing standards, specifications, best practices, references and implementation guidelines. Together, the members of the Alliance can combine their knowledge, experience and trajectory to achieve common goals and create a way to approach the market.
In this sense, the director of the Center for Research and Development of Hanwha Techwin, Jonguk Kim, said that "Hanwha Techwin will do everything possible to promote the development of the new ecosystem that the Alliance pursues, contributing to the infrastructure of the Alliance and working the hand of various application and solution providers. "
Kim also added: "We look forward to the Open Security & Safety Alliance, which will give a new boost to the security industry and other related industries through constant innovation."
Registration is now open for those organizations interested in being part of the Open Security & Safety Alliance. Interested parties can find details about the affiliation and more information about the activities of the Alliance at the following link: https://www.opensecurityandsafetyalliance.org/
